Whiteheart malleable iron in EN-GJMW-400-5, 450-5 and 360-12 to EN 1562, with a weldable grade for walls up to 8 mm.
All grades follow EN 1562.
| Grade | Min. tensile strength, MPa | Min. elongation, % |
|---|---|---|
| EN-GJMW-400-5 | 400 | 5 |
| EN-GJMW-450-5 | 450 | 5 |
| EN-GJMW-360-12 | 360 | 12 |
After annealing the parts can be pressed, deburred and bent. The ferrite skin gives a flexible outer layer that lowers the risk of cracks, and the pearlite core adds strength.
Carbon is drawn out of the surface during annealing, so whiteheart malleable iron welds without special precautions. The carbon limit of 0.3 % is met up to 8 mm wall thickness (grade EN-GJMW-360-12W).
Yes. EN-GJMW-360-12 welds in any process without special precautions.
Another strong and ductile option.
